"Things are getting Zaney"

Films: Tales From the Crypt Presents Demon Knight (1995)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area/Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Anyone familiar with a certain TV show hosted by a certain cryptkeeper can tell you that their stories are a real scream. Now, get ready for their first ever mobid picture show. It's bound to tear you up.

History: Since the death of Jesus Christ, there has been the Key, an ancient artifact said to contain the Messiah's blood. In the hands of good, it can instantly kill and ward off the demonic scourge. But should the demons get their hands on it and drain it of the blood, the world belongs to them. And for as long as anyone can remember, the Key has been under the vigil of a Demon Knight, a person dedicated to keeping it out of the grasp of the Collector, a demonic bounty hunter. This time, the title of Demon Knight has gone to a man named Frank Brayker, with the Collector and his army of demons hot on his trail.

Notable Kills: Punches a man through the head while in human form.

Final Fate: After killing Brayker, the Collector realizes too late that the title of Demon Knight has been taken up by a young woman, who spits the blood from the key into the demon's eyes, causing him to violently melt, briefly transform into his true appearance, and blow up. However, the woman finds herself being pursued by yet another Collector...then again, according to this film's director, the Cryptkeeper, she managed to see her life to the end the way she wanted to.

Powers/Abilities: Can summon demons through his blood, possess others, and manipulate reality.

Weakness: Destruction of the eyes frees the souls of demons, but it takes holy blood to destroy him. Also, he absolutely cannot say anything genuinely loving or sincere.

Scariness Factor: 4-The Collector is a true force to be reckoned with so long as he has a posse of hideous demons backing him up. In spite of his almost contagious sense of humor, he is not to be trifled with, and can think of a number of ways to screw you up and still get a good laugh out of it. Also, his true form, for as brief as we saw it, is TERRIFYING and INCOMPREHENSABLE.

Trivia: -The Collector's deliciously hammy performance was that of Billy Zane, who loved the role so much that he kept the bald look for a time. Earlier in his career, ironically, he had provided the voice of a noble demon: Etrigan from "Batman: The Animated Series".

-Other actors considered for the role of the Collector included Chris Sarandon and, get this, Willem Dafoe.

He's got plenty of those. This one's practically his novel.

So pathetic, his true form couldn't be shown right!
Not a Kingdom Hearts spin-off. We promise.

Almost as if a gust of wind could bring them down!

At least, possession makes your eyes prettier.

You could have had a good thing going, but no, Collector. You had to stick to your roots.
